Department Student Internships

Below are just a few of the examples of internships that our majors and minors have participated in. Erie Insurance:
      Erie Insurance was founded in 1925 by very proud Wittenberg alum H.O. Hirt.  You may recognize the name as the H.O. Hirt Endowed chair in History department currently held by Dr. Rosenberg.  Hirt's daughter Susan attended Wittenberg and later married Tom Hagen and they endowed the Susan Hirt Hagen center we see on campus.  Susan and Tom's daughter (H.O. Hirt's granddaughter) Sarah also attended Wittenberg and is serving her second term on our Board of Directors.  Erie Insurance is excited to continue, and expand, this long relationship with Wittenberg.  "Erie Insurance is committed to helping students learn and grow through our Future Focus Internship Program, which offers challenging opportunities for students to gain relevant and real-world business experience at a Fortune 500 company.

American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network
     "The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network was founded in September 2001 to directly lobby the goals of the American Cancer Society, which is subject to restrictions on advocacy activities because of its tax classification. ACS CAN works to make cancer a national priority."

Air Force Research Laboratory Advanced Technology Research Center (formerly the Autonomy Technology Research Center):
    â€œThe ATRC Summer Program is a research internship in a collaborative environment bringing together experts from the U. S. Air Force, universities, and industries to address sensing, machine learning, autonomy technologies, sensor signal exploitation, object detection, tracking and recognition, navigation, geolocation, computational innovations and security, to enhance Air Force capabilities.  The program typically employs more than 60 interns from the top U.S. research universities to work with accomplished mentors and researchers in a technically-well-equipped scholarly environment.“
